Lame Duck Day
This holiday honors anyone who is on their way out of their jobs or their elected office. The term lame duck is usually used to refer to someone who is sitting there waiting for something bad to happen but in this case, it refers to a person or a group of people who are nearing the end of their elected term and will not be running for political office again. Those people in office who do not have much time left in office and do not plan on running again, tend to make riskier decisions. This is because they do not need to worry about the consequences of their actions anymore.
