National Tortilla Chip Day

National Tortilla Chip Day is a day set aside to celebrate the tortilla chip. Are you wondering how the tortilla chip came about? In the 1940’s, the owner of a tortilla company, called El Zarape Tortilla Factory, decided to reuse tortillas that they couldn’t sell to the public. Aren’t we glad there were tortillas that weren’t perfect? As a result, we have a chip perfect for dipping guacamole, salsa and of course, nachos smothered in cheese, topped with meat and sour cream.
