Small Business Saturday
Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to shopping at your local small business. Rather than heading to the larger department stores, it is time to shop in the neighborhood. This special day was created by American Express, the credit card company, in 2010. The holiday has become so popular that American Express has even trademarked the name. The day is sandwiched between two of the most popular holidays – Black Friday (the biggest shopping day held after Thanksgiving) and Cyber Monday (this is when all of the online sales happen. It takes place the Monday after Thanksgiving.
